Personally I think opting for a folding treadmill when you’re buying a treadmill for your home is a good idea. Even if you don’t need the folding feature presently, you never know if your living situation will change so that you do require a folding feature.
A folding feature on a treadmill is designed so that you can easily store your treadmill and get it out of the way. Treadmills don’t exactly add much in way of decoration to any room.
But, not all folding treadmills are the same.
There are 2 important features you want with a folding treadmill:
- Push button folding ease, and
- Transportation wheels.
Push Button Ease
These days there are many treadmills that fold using hydraulic technology. All you do is press a button and it folds up. Ideally, it’s just as easy to unfold. Who wants to expend energy and time manually folding and unfolding a treadmill. These things are heavy.
Transportation Wheels
Most people who fold their treadmills, also want to move it out of the room. Just because a treadmill folds doesn’t make it easier to move. That’s why you must get wheels built into treadmill. Be sure the wheels are usable when folded. Imagine wheeling it unfolded to your storage room, then folding it, only to not be able to then wheel it into the storage room. In this scenario you’re back to lifting it or dragging it on your floor.
There are fortunately many, many folding treadmills available these days. You can compare more than 110 folding treadmills here.
